LANNY S. ARONOFF, M.A., Applied Behavioral Science
President


Lanny S. Aronoff is an accomplished executive with over twenty-five years of trial consulting, account servicing and creative problem solving experience. His company, Legal Ease, is a full-service provider of trial graphics and demonstrative exhibits in all mediums. Legal Ease is capable of producing everything from basic trial graphic text exhibits to complex flow charts with multiple cover cards; from a site diagram to a model of a human organ; from computer designed technical illustrations to computer animation and offers document imaging and presentation systems as well for those matters requiring that technology.

Prior to the creation of his own firm, Mr. Aronoff was Executive Vice President and a principal of The Acorn Group in New York for 13 years. His responsibilities included supervision of all case management, as well as consulting, designing and producing trial graphic exhibits for over 1,400 cases. He has worked in all media formats, including computer generated art, exhibit boards, animation, videography and models.

Possessing a stong consulting background, Mr. Aronoff is uniquely qualified. He holds a Masters in Applied Behavioral Science enabling him to better analyze data from the jury's perspective and to apply various strategies and design solutions to each case and incorporating this perspective into his trial graphics. His background is also an asset when collaborating with other trial consultants.

Mr. Aronoff is a creative and adept designer who can simplify complex material for presentation purposes in high impact trial graphic exhibits. His trial graphic exhibits have been used internationally in Canada, England, Holland, France and Brussels. A variety of Mr. Aronoff's career achievements are listed below:

 

• Personally responsible for litigation matters worth in excess of $25 billion.

• Designed 80 trial graphics and produced 50 trial graphic exhibits in four days for the Andersen Consulting v. Arthur Andersen arbitration, in which his client, Andersen Consulting was awarded $14 billion.

• Coordinated and designed all trial graphic material utilized in the U.S. Philips v. Windemere anti-trust trial resulting in over a $100 million award to the client.

• Designed and produced trial graphic exhibits utilized announcing the indictment of the officers of Banco Nacionale di Lavaro in Atlanta (U.S. v. BNL-Atlanta). The charts assisted Attorney General Thornberg and other agency heads in learning about the complexities of the case prior to the press conference, and subsequently utilized by A.G. Thornberg at the press conference.

• Responsible for the design of trial graphic exhibits which aided in the successful prosecutions and convictions of Federal Judge Aguilar in San Francisco and Federal Judge Claiborne in Las Vegas, for The Public Integrity Section of The Department of Justice.

• Responsible for controlling and coordinating all trial graphic exhibit development and production for both The Liggett Group and American Tobacco in their three smoking-related/cancer litigations; Cipollone, Horton and Gunsalus. These three cases involved seven different law firms and dozens of partners, associates and paralegals.

• Created and supervised the design and production of all trial graphic visual material for the Iran/Contra Hearings for the U.S. Senate Select Committee on Secret Military Assistance to Iran and The Nicaraguan Opposition and subsequently, for the prosecutions of Col. Oliver North and Admiral John Poindexter.

• Conceived, developed and supervised the production of all trial graphic visual material for the first private Superfund trial ever to go to judgment in Dedham Water Co. v. Cumberland Farms. A defense verdict for his client was achieved. Counsel in this trial was Christopher Davis of Goodwin, Proctor & Hoar (Boston).

• In People v. Robert Chambers (The Jennifer Levin murder trial), Mr. Aronoff was responsible for designing and supervising all key trial graphic visual material utilized by the prosecution. He provided relevant and foundational testimony under direct and cross-examination, thereby securing the admission into evidence of the critical murder-site trial graphic exhibit.

• In charge of consulting, conceiving and supervising the production of trial graphics for US v. Charles Atkins, the largest tax fraud and tax evasion case ever tried. This case in particular involved taking highly complex, esoteric financial transactions and translating them into simple, easily understandable graphics.
